It is now the first night of Chanukkah. It's a more minor holiday, but I find that it's the most well-known of the Jewish holidays. And it has always been a time of family for me. My parents would return home to spend the week with my sister, her husband, myself and my niece. I am also a fan of doughnuts, at least homemade.
I'm looking forward to finals. I consider this time of year the best time to show what we've learned.
My sister asked me to come home during the break. It's the first time I'll have gone with her rather than with my parents. But I look forward to meeting Ora's boyfriend. He's in Rabbinical school and offered several of his last semester's books to look over at my leisure.

I have been thinking about the date I went on, in light of the winter ball occurring tonight. It strikes me as strange how little I felt on the date and how I was simply glad for it to be over. Shoshana assured me it is normal. But she had already met David when she was my age, although she didn't date him for a few years. I cannot say I've ever felt an attraction to a woman. At least to none of the ones I've met here.
Asexuality may assist my studies, but it will make living up to commandments more difficult.

STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE EXAMS! There will be no make-ups!! None at all. So no sick-days or pranks or anything like that.
Blitzball practices and Dragon racing classes have been canceled, and the rest of the club meetings are up to the presidents' discretions. (So most likely still on-going, unless otherwise specified.)
After that, is a winter break that will last from 12/23 all the way until 1/3! And there is a special Mitaartut holiday on 1/6 which the mods will go into more detail about at a later date.
Furthermore,
Sophia, Mei, and Lena have discussed a little Rakiah outing to a certain Disney World in the United States. Mei was wondering, if Arion were to invite his house (+friends of the Xing twins) to join, would anyone be interested? It would not be a school-funded event, so it would actually cost the students money out of their own pockets (but Arion is betting on cramming everyone into one hotel room so it'd be crowded, but probably cheap.) And it would most likely either take place this weekend (which they have a so-called 'long weekend'; though they do have to be back by 8pm for the Orchestra Concert on Monday...) or during winter break.
Let me know what you guys think of that bit of plot and when you would like that to happen?

Hi! New player here. The name's Nimo, and the character here is Embla Guðrúnsdottir, yet another warlock for Mathey. Embla is from Iceland and has dabbled with the supernatural (in her case galdrar) since she was a child. She's a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of girl, as long as you don't hurt her or her family. To quote her bio: "While Embla is the ever so perky girl she does have her moments that makes you wonder just what kind of things she's really hiding and that's usually when someone crosses her or her loved ones. But she's also very opinionated and doesn't hesitate to get into people's face when she sees something that she feels is wrong or unfair."
Her main passions in life are art, Iceland and galdrar. Other than that she just loooves to study and read quite a bit. Which, I suppose, might make her kind of a nerd in some peoples' eyes.
I'm not sure what more to write. More info can be found in Embla's bio.
When it comes to storylines, I...honestly have no ideas at all at the moment, so hit me with your best shot! But please be gentle with me - I'm frail. Really.
I'm not as good at the English language as I'd like to be, being ESL, but hopefully that won't be too much of a problem, playing a Nordic character and all. ;) Please don't be afraid of correcting me - I definitely prefer that over continuing to do something wrong.

Yay for surviving the plague, Idris! (Mostly, anyways.) And now for our next bit of plot...
As most of you know, the winter ball is this Friday! :) It will be held at the same venue that the masquerade we had was held in. And dress is required to be formal, so your character will be turned away if they're not wearing something that would pass as 'formal'!! (So no shirts and jeans this time, Leon...)
By one of the walls is a small line of boxes where students can vote for the following categories:
best dressed, best dancer, most entertaining, most outrageous outfit, cutest couple
If you would like to submit your character for one of these categories, respond here by Friday morning (EST time, so... Friday night for those of you on the other side of the world?) Please include a small description as well. (For example, instead of just saying, "I'm submitting Arion and Li for cutest couple" something along the lines of, "Arion brought a date in sparkling blue to the ball and announced it as his cousin. But where was his twin, who is usually attached to him at the hips?")
EDIT: Meaning, nominate any character, but instead of just saying what category you're nominating him/her for, describe why. If Devon is nominated for her dress, link it. If Arion/Li are nominated best couple, describe how they were acting. Etc.
You can submit other characters for other people as well. But only if you already know what they're doing/wearing. No submitting Leon for most outrageous outfit if you don't know what he's wearing first!
Comments are screened! Because, you know, it's more fun that way. :) I'll put out a list of all the suggestions tomorrow for voting!
